Hey, I’m Josh! I’m 24, from near Portsmouth, I love Jesus, Lego, and Star Wars.
I live in Leeds where I was a student, and I’ve been involved with Student mission ever since!
Whether you’ve been to university or not, you know that it’s about way more than just academia - it’s a coming of age! We come to university for our first real taste of independence, looking to find out who we are away from our family homes, and amongst the freedom of thousands of other people doing the same thing. Students are far more open to trying new things at university than at any other point in life; new hobbies, politics, sports…faith?
99% of students don’t go to Church, and yet, 74% of students would go to Church if they were invited by a friend.
This generation of students is characterised by spiritual openness and curiosity. 47% of students said ‘yes’ when asked if they wanted to know who Jesus was.
There’s an amazing openness in student mission today. And there’s an even bigger need!
As a partnership developer, my role is to equip and encourage students who go to Church to share who Jesus is with those 74%. It’s such a joy to support Churches in their radical welcome!
