We pray that this story from a student in Glasgow encourages you at the beginning of this new academic year.
‘In November, I went surveying on campus for the time, feeling terrified. I had never done ‘cold evangelism’ before and felt incredibly out of my depth, feeling unable to depend on the Lord’s strength. Many things have changed since then!
I got more involved at Church, finding Christian community who were hungry for Jesus and passionate about sharing the Gospel, which really encouraged and challenged me.
Writing my 2026 ‘resolutions’ made me realise for the first time that above all else, all I wanted was more of Jesus. As I spent more time with Him, the more I wanted to tell my friends how good Jesus is! But wanting to tell them did not translate to actually telling them because I lacked boldness and had no idea how to.
In February, I randomly started thinking and praying about going to Ibiza with 24/7 prayer with no idea a Scottish team were planning to go, and God provided an opportunity to join the team late in May!
I was so dependent on God’s strength in Ibiza because I had no idea what I was doing. I was blessed with boldness to tell people about Jesus and pray with them! I have never felt so bold in my life!
We kept speaking to people from Scotland, especially people from Glasgow specifically. As I prayed for my heart to be broken for the people we met in Ibiza, I found my heart being broken to tell people in Scotland about Jesus.
Looking forward to next semester, I am so excited to see what God is going to do in Glasgow!!’
