If you’re about to start university, then you won’t remember Billy Joel’s classic “We didn’t start the fire”. But 80’s is so retro right now so watch it!

The lyrics contain headlines from 1949-1989 and the chorus is:

We didn't start the fire

It was always burning

Since the world's been turning

For me it captures the following simple truths that students need grasp about the gospel.

It’s not your gospel. You didn’t start it. It’s God’s gospel. He started the fire.

This means you can relax, find one of his churches and get stuck in.
