Across the country, we’re seeing more and more students asking the big questions of life. Is God real?

Some are curious. Some are sceptical. Some are actively trying to disprove God entirely.

Andrew was one of them.

“I grew up in a Christian home and attended church every Sunday. But I never believed it for myself. As soon as I could, I stopped going.”

By the time he got to university, Andrew enrolled onto a philosophy course as he was determined to figure things out for himself.

“I explored all the arguments for and against God. I felt like I could disprove every single one for God, but the idea of God, this was something I could never fully get rid of”

Then, in his second year, something unexpected happened.

“I don’t really know why, but I decided to read the Gospels properly for the first time.”

Curiosity turned into something more.

After a conversation with a Christian friend, Andrew found himself walking into the Christian Union.

“I think I was still trying to disprove God—but I wanted to give Him a real chance.”

And then came the moment he couldn’t ignore.

“I’ve had back and neck pain for years because of scoliosis. Someone at a local church prayed for me, and the pain went away. It’s not perfect, but it’s better than it’s been in five years.”

More than that—he could see a difference.

“My spine looks straighter in the mirror. I definitely feel something has changed”

That was the turning point.

“I’m all in.”

Now, Andrew is taking his next steps—wanting to get baptised and share his story with others on campus.

Stories like this are becoming more common. Students aren’t just brushing past faith—they’re giving it a real chance. And when they do, they’re encountering Jesus for themselves.

Right now, there are Andrews on every campus—students who are curious, questioning, even sceptical—but open.

Let’s not miss them.

Let’s keep creating spaces where students can explore.

Let’s keep inviting friends to take a fresh look at Jesus.

Let’s keep praying for moments of real encounter.

Because when students give Jesus a real chance, lives are changed.

Every week of the academic year, we are sharing a story of student mission. If you have a story to share, let us know.
